A "crime" is any act or omission (of an act) in violation of forbidding or commanding it. Family Law

Uncontested Divorce

It is estimated that upwards of 95% of divorces in the United States are "uncontested," because the divorcing parties are able to come to an agreement with regard to the division of property, child custody and support issues. When the parties can amicably divorce, the costs and stress on the parties and most importantly the children, if any, is greatly reduced.

Contested Divorce

If the divorcing parties are unable to agree the parties submit their position to the Court, who resolves their disagreement for them.


Bankruptcy is a legally declared inability or impairment of ability of an individual or organization to pay their creditors in the normal course of business. Bankruptcy law provides for the development of a plan that allows a debtor to resolve his debts through the division of assets among creditors or no distribution to creditors and a discharge shortly thereafter.

A personal injury occurs when a person has suffered some form of injury, either physical or psychological, as a result of an accident or medical malpractice. The most common type of personal injury claims are road traffic accidents, accidents at work, slip and fall accident, assault claims, accidents in the home, defective product accidents and holiday accidents. Where the accident was the fault of someone else, the injured party may be entitled to monetary compensation from the person whose negligent conduct caused the injury.

The law of trusts and estates is generally considered the area of law which governs the management of personal affairs and the disposition of property of an individual in anticipation of the event of such person's incapacity or death. Its techniques are useful for tax reduction, the provision of loved ones after death as well as philanthropic desires.

Oil and Gas Law

Oil and gas law is generally considered an area of the law pertaining to the acquisition and ownership rights in subsurface mineral rights both before and after its discovery and the adjudication regarding those rights. Mineral rights to a particular parcel may be owned by a private individual, corporation, tribes, or by a government. Mineral rights expend vertically downward within the property boundary. Unless explicitly separated by deed, mineral rights are owned by the surface owners. Once severed from surface ownership, mineral rights may be bought, sold or transferred, like any other real property.
